A Taste of Aveyron

  • Nockie's Palette 40 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, unit 17C Hong Kong (map)

Meet some new friends over an intimate dinner party whereby art and cuisine will intertwine to create a magical evening.

Our theme this time will be that of rustic french countryside cooking with wine pairing from Nockie’s Palette. Nockies Palette is associated with the NockArt Foundation which sponsors artist residency programs around the region. This evening will be paired with wines from their Georgetown Vineyard, where the award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Rose grapes were harvested, in Central Otago, New Zealand.

Georgetown's Pinot Noir has an international reputation as one of the finest red grape varieties. The traditional Red Burgundies have been joined by other outstanding examples from the USA and New Zealand in particular. And yes, we will be sampling some of these during the evening.

As for the food, much of it has been inspired by my summer trip in Rodez in the Aveyron area of Southern France where I could get my hands on fresh, seasonal produce of the finest quality (N.B. Dessert will be made by Jade Ng from Sweet Fashion House).

Regarding the space, the dinner experience will be held at Nockie Palette’s tasting room, a hidden gem located in an industrial building in Wong Chuk Hang. Upon entering the tasting room, expect to be enthralled by its beauty and warmth. Tastefully decorated by its owners, the walls are adorned by various artworks, each with a story to tell (of which the owner Michael Nock will be delighted to explain to us and take us for a tour in his studio). Meanwhile, the open kitchen ensures you see the chefs in action while dining with other peers.
